Privacy Policy
WidgetFold is built to know as little about you as possible. There is no account, no advertising, and no tracking. This page lists everything the app collects, which is very little.
What stays on your device
Everything that makes a widget yours:
- Your designs, the text you write in them, and their names.
- Photos you choose for a widget. They are reduced in size and stored with the design.
- Calendar events, reminders, Health data (sleep and steps), contacts’ birthdays, and the song playing in Apple Music. WidgetFold reads these only after you allow it, only to show them in your widgets, and only on the device.
- Habit streaks, counters, and focus timers.
None of this is sent to us. We have no copy of it and couldn’t see it if we wanted to.
iCloud
If you turn on iCloud, your designs sync through your own private iCloud database, which Apple stores for you. We can’t read it.
Weather
Weather widgets use your approximate location to ask Apple Weather for a forecast. Your location goes to Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy, and never to us.
What we collect: anonymous usage
To learn which parts of the app help people and where they get stuck, the app sends us a short record of what happens in it. Each record contains only:
- A random install ID, made by the app when it’s first used. It isn’t tied to your name, Apple Account, device, or advertising ID, and deleting the app discards it.
- The name of what happened, from a fixed list, such as “paywall viewed”, “template previewed”, or “widget saved”, and when.
- For plan and purchase steps, which plan: weekly, monthly, or yearly.
- For templates and saved widgets, a broad kind such as “time” or “tracking” — never the widget’s text or name.
- The app version.
We don’t collect widget contents, photos, design names, your location, Health, Calendar, Contacts, or any information that identifies you. We don’t store your IP address with these records.
What we collect: purchases
When you subscribe, renew, cancel, or get a refund, Apple sends us a signed notice. We keep the transaction ID, the plan, the dates, and whether it was a free trial — to count subscribers and see which plans people choose. Apple doesn’t share your name, email, or payment details with us, and we can’t link a purchase to an install ID.
How it’s used and kept
- Only to understand and improve WidgetFold, as totals and percentages. Never for advertising, never sold, never shared with data brokers.
- Stored with our database provider, Neon, in the United States, and kept for up to two years.
- Because the records can’t be linked to you, we can’t look up or export “your” data. To stop sending them, delete the app; a reinstall starts a new, unrelated ID.
Children
WidgetFold isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date before the app collects anything new. Questions: admin@auronx.net.
